Those interested in some friendly competition should sign up for Bullseye matches here at Stuyvesant Rod & Gun Club. Participation is very affordable as the $10 fee gets you into matches from September 19th until April. Matches are held every Monday at 7:00pm with a few breaks to observe holidays and hunting season.
Matches follow the NRA bullseye gallery course with three stages of firing at 50′, one-handed:
- slow fire: 10 minutes, 10 shots
- timed string: 40 seconds, 10 shots
- rapid: 20 seconds, 10 shots
Matches start with the rimfire stage – shooters can use any rimfire pistol or revolver. Centerfire is the next stage where shooters can use any centerfire pistol or revolver including .45. The final stage is .45 where only .45 pistols or revolvers are allowed.
Any sights are allowed except laser.
All shooters are welcome. It is a great way to improve your marksmanship skills.
Please note that work party hours will follow the normal club hours. If you are interested in helping out, stop by the club during normal club opening hours. We recommend calling ahead to let us know you’re coming.
Note that the range closure has been extended until June 14 to allow us to continue renovations and maintenance.
The board and many volunteers from club membership have been working on renovating the range and club. You’ll see the points are all much brighter as we’ve stripped the old panels and installed new ones. We’re using screws to attach the panels making it much easier to repair individual panels.
